The Siachen is derived from the Balti language word Sabaqin which means the “Wild Rose”. It is one of the most inhospitable and glaciated regions of the world and unfortunately is also the highest battlefield in the world due to India’s illegal occupation. The glacier itself spreads over an area of 685 square kilometers, is 76 kilometers long and 2-8 kilometers wide at various places. The temperatures routinely drop to minus 40 degrees centigrade and even lower with the addition of wind chill factor. An igloo, depicting the living conditions of Siachen, is made. Pictures of all shuhadas of Gyari incident (2012) have been displayed. A beautiful diorama showing Havaldar Lalak Jan fighting enemy has also been made.
سیاچن بلتی زبان کے لفظ سباقین سے ماخوذ ہے جس کا مطلب ہے ”جنگلی گلاب”۔ یہ دنیا کے سب سے زیادہ کٹھن اور دشورارگزاربرفانی خِطوں میں سے ایک ہے اور بدقسمتی سے ہندوستان کے غیر قانونی قبضے کی وجہ سے یہ دنیا کا سب سے اونچا میدان ِجنگ بھی ہے۔ یہ گلیشیئر685مربع کلومیٹر کے رقبے پر پھیلا ہوا ہے، 76 کلومیٹرطویل ہے اور مختلف مقامات پر8-2 کلومیٹر چوڑا ہے۔ درجہ حرارت معمول کے مطابق منفی40 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تک گِر جاتا ہے اور وِنڈ چِل فیکٹر کے اضافے کے ساتھ درحقیقت اس سے بھی کم ہوتا ہے۔اس گیلری میں سیاچن کے حالات ِزندگی کی عکاسی کرنے والا اِیگلو بھی بنایا گیا ہے۔ گیاری سانحہ(2012) کے تمام شہداء کی تصاویر آویزاں کی گئی ہیں۔ حولدار لالک جان کو دشمن سے لڑتے دکھاتے ہوئے ایک خوبصورت ڈائیوراما بھی بنایا گیا ہے۔
